Peer Assistance Services is here to help licensed pharmacists, interns, pharmacy students, technicians and their families. Please contact us if you answer YES to any one of these questions:
  • Do you have general questions about impaired practice, substance abuse, alcoholism
    in the pharmacy workplace?
  • Are you concerned about your own or a colleague's abuse or dependence on alcohol
    or other drugs?
  • Have you had problems in your workplace that could affect your license to practice Pharmacy?
  • Have you received notification from the State Board of Pharmacy about possible action against your license?


    • We offer the following services
    General education, information resources, evaluation and assistance in the prevention and recognition of physical, emotional and psychological problems which could result in impaired practice from substance abuse, mental health problems, stress and related topics.

    An alternative to the traditional disciplinary process for licensees experiencing impaired practice, the Pharmacy Peer Health Assistance Program alleviates the fear of probation, suspension or revocation in the mind of the licensee.

    The Colorado Pharmacist Recovery Network is a voluntary program of recovery support, providing intervention, monitoring and peer support.

    Scholarship
    PAS offers the Harold Bober Memorial Scholarship for the Univeristy of Utah School on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependencies.  Harold L. Bober, RPh, PhD, an advocate for the pharmacy community, served on the board of the Colorado Pharmacist Recovery Network, the Peer Assistance Services, Inc. Board of Directors, and was a long-standing faculty member at the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy.  PAS is pleased to offer this scholarship in honor of his dedication to the prevention and intervention of substance use disorders.  This $1,000 scholarship is available annually to a pharmacist or student of pharmacy with an interest in the prevention, recognition, and treatment of alcoholism and other substance abuse.     FUNDING  PAS provides the Pharmacy Peer Health Assistance Program through a contract with the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Peer Health Assistance Program is authorized through the Colorado Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacists statute.
